For those of us who were grandfathered into the SHRM certification program, many of us are just now starting to use the SHRM recertification platform entering in our recertification credits from courses, webcasts, volunteer work and other work experience. The HR certification landscape continues to evolve as both SHRM and HRCI are making some notable changes in their respective HR certification programs which Ive summarized below. I know that may of our readers and myself are dual certified, meaning that we have HR certification with both SHRM and HRCI. HRCI Certification Program Changes Updates HRCI made three announcements last week during the 2017 Annual SHRM Conference related to their HR certification and recertification programs. #1 International HR Credentials From HR Certification Institute (HRCI) Receive Accreditation From the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) Accreditation in the certification world is very important, HRCI has worked hard, in my opinion, helping to make the HR profession as well-thought of and recognized as possible. While I personally, like this change, I would like to see it extended to the SPHR and GPHR programs.
